Terms of Use

Last updated 18 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and PBG LTD ("we", "us"), the operator of ChopCount. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use ChopCount.

1. Who can use ChopCount

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. You confirm the information you give us about yourself is accurate, because your calorie targets are calculated from it.

2. Not medical advice

ChopCount is a general wellness tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in the app — including Chop Coach replies, calorie targets and meal plans — is medical, nutritional or clinical advice. Always speak to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing how you eat, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, older, underweight, or living with diabetes, kidney or heart disease, an eating disorder or any other medical condition. Stop using the app and seek medical help if you feel unwell.

3. Estimates, not measurements

Calories, macros and portions are estimates produced from food composition databases and AI recognition of your photos and descriptions. Real dishes vary by recipe, oil, portion and preparation, so figures can be wrong. Check and edit anything that looks off before you rely on it.

4. Safe limits

We will not set a plan below 1,200 kcal a day for women or 1,500 kcal a day for men, and we cap weight loss plans at 1 kg a week. Please do not work around these limits; they exist to protect your health.

5. Your account

Keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts used for abuse, attempts to break the app's security or fair-use limits, scraping our food database, or anything unlawful.

6. Your content

Your logs, photos and messages remain yours. You grant us a licence to store and process them only to run the features you use, as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share.

7. Fair use of AI features

Photo analysis, coach chat and exercise estimates have daily and per-minute limits so the service stays available to everyone. Limits may change; we will keep them reasonable for normal personal use.

8. Our content

The ChopCount name, logo, design, food data compilation and software are owned by us or our licensors. You may use them only as part of using the app.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, add or remove features, and occasionally the service may be unavailable. We will give notice of material changes to these terms in the app; continuing to use ChopCount after that means you accept them.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Account or at /delete-account. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.

11. Liability

ChopCount is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you take based on estimates in the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. App stores and law

If you install ChopCount from the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores' own terms also apply and they are not responsible for the app. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without affecting consumer rights you have where you live.
